Ring those chords!
Wilderness Road Chorus of Sweet Adelines International presents barbershop-style musical harmony throughout the New River Valley.
Barbershop style is four-part harmony, sung a cappella.
When the harmony is just right, everyone hears a fifth tone, the overtone. It reverberates through the room. That's "ringing the chord."Lead - a solid sound that usually is the melody
Tenor - a light, sweet, harmony sung above the lead
Baritone - a harmony crossing above and below the lead
Bass - a rich mellow sound of the lowest notes of the chord.
